How to See Recent Follows on Instagram in Order (2026)
To see recent follows in order, sort your own Following list by date. The newest ones move to the top. Another person's list cannot be switched into that order inside Instagram.

The ordered view takes a few taps, and it is on your account. Instagram will not rearrange someone else's Following list into newest-first.
If the question is who you followed recently, you do not need to guess from the default order.
The steps on your profile
Go to your profile. Tap the number of accounts you follow. Tap sort, then the latest date followed. Scroll, or search a username if the list is long. The top of that sort is your most recent follow.
Why scrolling their list does not do this
Their Following list stays in Instagram's default order while you scroll. The account at the top can be an old mutual. The account they followed yesterday can sit far down. There is no switch that changes this on their page.
A longer list
Search still only answers "is this name here today." It does not answer "when." For your own names, the date sort already answers when, relative to your other follows. SUS shows those dates as a timeline so the long list is easier to read.
Frequently asked questions
Does Latest mean the last few minutes?
It means newer than the rows under it. The in-app sort is by date order, not a clock on every row.
Can I do this on the followers list?
On your own profile you can sort followers too. On someone else's profile, you cannot.
Will they know I sorted my own list?
No.
What to take away
In order means your list, sorted by date followed. SUS shows that order on iPhone.
